The original limestone casing on the Pyramid of Khafre
I'm a friend of Alexa's (she sent me your blog link because I've been in Egypt a lot and thought I'd find it fun). I hope you are having fun on the cruise from Aswan to Luxor. Don't miss Abu Simbel and Karnak! Both very, very cool.
El Fishawy cafe in the Khan Khalili is good fun (bit touristy, but still worth it). Al Azhar park is fantastic. The City of the Dead, the tent market, and a falukka ride taken from Maadi in the evening. Safe travels! If you end up elsewhere in the Middle East get my email from Alexa....
